Hello! I'm Efi, a native Greek speaker, a qualified language educator, and the founder of a language learning centre in Thessaloniki, Greece.

I have been teaching languages since 1997, with 29 years of experience helping children, teenagers, and adults develop their language skills and confidence.

I hold university degrees in Philosophy and Education, as well as English Language and Literature, from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I have also completed further professional training at the University of Macedonia, focusing on the use of technology in language teaching.

Throughout my career, I have worked with learners of different ages, backgrounds, and abilities. My academic background in both Greek and English language education allows me to explain Greek grammar, vocabulary, and language structures clearly to English-speaking students.

I am also the creator of "Speak First", my own communication-focused teaching approach, developed through years of classroom experience. My philosophy is that language learning becomes truly meaningful when students can turn their knowledge into real communication.

I enjoy creating interactive digital materials and combining traditional teaching expertise with modern educational technology to make lessons engaging, structured, and effective.

I am especially passionate about helping people of Greek heritage reconnect with their roots, supporting complete beginners, and encouraging adult learners to discover the beauty of the Greek language.

For me, teaching is more than explaining grammar or vocabulary. It is about building confidence, developing a genuine connection with the language, and helping every student achieve their personal goals.

Learn to Speak Greek with Confidence – From Your Very First Lessons!

Are you interested in learning Greek from scratch, improving your conversational skills, or reconnecting with your Greek heritage?

My Greek lessons are designed for children, teenagers, and adults of all levels, with a strong emphasis on practical communication and personalised learning.

With 29 years of teaching experience, I have developed "Speak First", my own teaching approach, which transforms vocabulary and grammar into meaningful, everyday conversations.

How does Speak First work?

Vocabulary-to-Speech: Instead of memorising isolated Greek words, you learn how to use them in sentences, questions, descriptions, and real-life dialogues.

Grammar-to-Speech: You don't just study grammar rules. You practise using them naturally in conversations, gradually developing fluency and confidence.

What do my lessons include?

• Personalised lessons based on your level, interests, and learning goals.

• Interactive digital speaking cards to practise vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and sentence formation.

• Digital worksheets, interactive Wordwall quizzes, and engaging learning activities.

• Audio materials to improve listening comprehension and pronunciation.

• Practical dialogues and speaking exercises based on everyday situations.

• Reading activities that gradually develop your ability to recognise Greek letters, syllables, words, and complete sentences.

During our first meeting, we will discuss your learning goals, assess your current level, and explore how the Speak First method can help you communicate confidently in Greek.

Share the Cost – Learn Greek Together!

Would you prefer a more affordable option? You can share your lesson with another student of a similar level and learning goals.

Two students: €15 per person for a 60-minute lesson (€30 total).

If you don't already have a learning partner, I may be able to match you with another interested student, depending on availability, language level, and compatible schedules.

What is included in your lessons?

Each lesson follows a structured, personalised learning plan and includes interactive Digital Speaking Cards, audio materials, digital worksheets, vocabulary and grammar activities, Wordwall quizzes, and practical speaking exercises. With Speak First, we transform vocabulary and grammar into real sentences, questions, dialogues, and everyday conversations.
